We are one of the largest learning disability charities in the UK, supporting over 2,500 people through our friendly, supportive, creative and diverse teams.

Join us as a manager with Hft and you’ll develop your social care career with one of the leading names in the sector. You’ll go to work each day knowing you can make a real difference to the lives of adults with learning disabilities.

About the role

As a Work Options Manager at Hft, you’ll be supporting adults with learning disabilities to live the best life possible, and work towards achieving and maintaining their employment aspirations. You will be a role model to others through demonstrating excellent support and Supported Employment techniques to interns and graduates, and you will work with the National Work Options Manager to coach, support and manage staff teams effectively. You will be responsible for nurturing and inspiring those coming to work for Hft to help ensure we have the best staff teams offering a great support service.

The purpose of the Work Options Manager role is to hold responsibility for a team of Employability Coaches, and Follow On Employability Coaches, across a number of Hft’s supported internship programmes. This will involve both direct line management and operational support in the day to day running of each programme, to ensure young people with Learning Disabilities who participate in the programmes gain the skills and experience necessary to achieve their aspirations. You will promote and lead good practice at all times, doing all you can to make sure that the people we support are safe, and provided an excellent Supported Employment provision.

Alongside the National Work Options Manager, you are responsible and accountable for monitoring, maintaining and providing the highest standards of support to interns and graduates of Hft’s Project SEARCH programmes. You will also hold responsibility for implementing Hft’s role as the Supported Employment provider in new supported internship programmes.

As Work Options Manager, you will be home based, and will visit programmes onsite as and when required, as well as undertaking elements of your role remotely. Core working hours will be Mon-Fri during programme operational hours, however, you will need to be open to flexible working which may involve some occasional evening and weekend work. There will be an expectation to provide management support outside of the focus area, and there will be occasional need for overnight stays.

What’s in it for you?

There are a range of benefits and career development opportunities at Hft. We’ll give you a comprehensive induction, full training and support along the way.

With Investors in People and Skills for Care accreditation we are omitted to investing in you to ensure you have the specialist skills and expertise needed to support people to live the best life possible.
