What will you be doing? 

The Trainee Management Accountant will support the team with the provision of accurate and timely financial reports and analysis, and you will be responsible for all the routine billings for Hft’s care and support function. Working closely with the sales ledger team you will ensure that cash is correctly matched to these billings, whilst also assisting the team with queries on cash and any purchase ledger transactions. Liaison with local authority finance teams will be a key part of your role and you will identify late payment issues and their underlying cause.

 

In addition you will support the finance team with ad-hoc requests for analysis and you will get involved in the annual budget preparation and financial reforecasting. You will liaise with the operations team for all billing related issues, provide key stakeholders with audit support and other ad hoc tasks.

About you

  • You will have, be studying towards AAT Level 2 or have the equivalent level of experience and understanding of accounting terminology.
  • A degree in accounting or a related subject is an advantage
  • Experience in credit control is essential and previous exposure to local authority finance teams is advantageous
  • Experience and competence in Microsoft Office (particularly Word and Excel) with a willingness to learn further IT packages as required
  • Experience of, and competence in, using a database and accurate data inputting
  • Knowledge and experience using computerised accounting systems
  • Experience of working in a fast paced, deadline driven environment
  • GCSE Maths and English (or equivalent)
  • A positive attitude to people with a learning disability
