About the role
The Deputy Day Opportunities Manager post is an exciting new role to Hft Flintshire. You’ll be leading a team of support workers to support adults with learning disabilities to have the best day possible. With a 70/30 split between hands on support and off roster management time, you will be a role model to others through demonstrating excellent support and you will help the Day Opportunities Manager to coach, support and manage people effectively. You will be responsible for nurturing and inspiring those coming to work for Hft, ensuring we have the best teams offering great support services. You will play a big part in empowering people, skill and knowledge development, positive risk taking and creating an upbeat but safe space for training and personal development. This role also offers great opportunities for career progression to help you develop your own knowledge and skills.
You will support people to fulfil existing gardening contracts at multiple sites around the county. You will support the Manager and the team to move to a new purpose build site in May 2025 which includes 10 acres of woodland, a nursery, shop and small café. The service also has a workshop which includes: processing logs and kindling and upcycling pallet wood into an array of artisan products.
About you
You will need experience of managing and leading a team.
Experience of working with adults with learning disabilities, ideally in a day service environment.
You need good IT skills and experience of maintaining records
You also need to hold or be willing to work towards a Diploma in Health & Social Care Level 3 (or equivalent).
The passion for delivering high quality care and support services to people with learning disabilities and you want to make a difference to enable people to live a more fulfilling and independent life.
You will hold a full, clean driving licence and be prepared to drive the service vehicles which include flatbed trucks
