Salary: £37,370 increasing to £38,491 from 1st October 2024
Working hours: Full time, 37.5 hours, Monday to Friday
Location: Home based with national travel (England and north Wales, as required). Candidates who currently live in the north or east of England are at an advantage.

The Specialist Skills Practitioner Role is to support the delivery of the care provision to people we support who display behaviours that may challenge, and to ensure that support staff receive appropriate training to enable them to deliver high quality, safe care and support to those people we support.
Key responsibilities:
Provide specialist services that support operational teams across the organisation to meet the supported individuals’ life aspirations and respond to their specific needs relating to Positive Behaviour Support.
Carry out formal Functional Behaviour Assessments (FBA) and use these to develop individual PBS plans
Provide specialist training, maintain training materials and resources and provide feedback to show the effectiveness of PBS plans
Support Operational staff to ensure that service delivery is compliant with Deprivation of Liberty Standards and that CQC compliance is met
Participate in and contribute to Regional and National Project groups
Remain an expert Practitioner by ensuring knowledge remains current.
Develop and monitor auditing processes and documentation.
What we are looking for:
A qualification in positive behaviour support and detailed knowledge of the Mental Capacity Act and Deprivation of Liberty Standards.
Experience of working with individuals and teams to undertake functional behaviour analysis, developing PBS plans and monitoring effectiveness
Effective communication skills including presentational and mentoring skills
Strong IT skills including MS Office suite
Ability to produce and analyse data in written and numeric form
A full current UK driving licence and an ability to travel in England and Wales with overnight stays.
