What will you be doing? 

The Senior Accounts Assistant will support with the supplier payment processes, to ensure invoices are paid on time and in line with supplier agreements and are required to solve routine problems and be a point of contact for internal and external stakeholders.

They will be proficient in role with professional knowledge and expertise and will be responsible for sales and purchase ledger management: ensuring that transactions are entered accurately and promptly, in line with agreed policies and processes.

The Senior Accounts Assistant will make recommendations for continuous improvements to ways of working or processes and can deputise for the manager as needed.

About you

  • You will have, be studying towards, or be willing to study towards a foundation qualification in accounting
  • Experience and competence in Microsoft Office (particularly Word and Excel) with a willingness to learn further IT packages as required
  • Experience of, and competence in, using a database and accurate data inputting
  • Purchase Ledger and Sales Ledger experience within a P2P Purchase Ordering system
  • Knowledge and experience using computerised accounting systems
  • Strong IT knowledge, including experience of using Microsoft office suite
