What will you be doing?

The Front of House Waiter/Waitress will oversee the functions of an exciting new catering provision – Café Bryn Euryn, based in Mochdre. In addition to serving good quality homemade food and drinks, the café will also provide a training provision and vocational experience for young people and adults with Learning Disabilities to learn and develop skills and knowledge required to work in a catering environment.

Specific duties include: 

  • Welcoming guests and promptly attending to tables

  • Keeping the front of house area (including external seating area) clean and tidy, clearing tables, completing opening and closing duties, stock tableware and other supplies

  • Serving food and beverages to guests making recommendations if needed

  • Communicating with the kitchen regarding questions including; length of wait, product availability, meal requirements, dietary needs and special requests

  • Handling payments of goods and services

  • Preparing hot and cold drinks, including operating the barista machine

  • Supporting Adults with Learning disabilities to develop their catering knowledge and experience

About you

  • You will have experience of working with members of the public
  • You will have experience of working in a Catering environment
  • You will have the ability to speak Welsh or the commitment to learning
  • You will have the ability to communicate effectively with a supported person and their family/Carer and other professionals
  • You will have the ability to complete tasks following defined process
  • You will be able to plan own day and prioritise workload
