Project SEARCH –Liverpool Hft are looking to appoint an Employability Coach within their Work Opportunities division for adults with a learning disability.
The Employability Coach role is central to the delivery of high quality services and promoting Hft's reputation. The job requires an individual with drive, enthusiasm and commitment. Someone with a 'Can Do' attitude who has the ability to look for creative solutions to meet people's support needs in a way that respects their individuality and works with the Operations Manager.The Project SEARCH Employability Coach role is to support young people with Learning Disabilities in achieving and sustaining paid employment. As a Employability Coach, you will need to be open to flexible working. This will include travelling to various sites in the region, and also will involve some occasional evening and weekend work.
This is a fixed-term role until November 2025, with the possibility to extend.
Person Specification:
Essential
English and Maths at GCSE level 5 or equivalent.
A good knowledge of learning disabilities.
The ability to monitor and review using appropriate methods.
The ability to create interest and motivate the person supported.
The ability to approach training tasks from a variety of ways - to suit both the person supported and to meet the conditions of the job specification laid down by the employer.
Able to adhere to and promote standards of the host business and/or competitive work site in order to promote job productivity and efficiency
The ability to work competently in a variety of workplaces, being able to analyse the job and arrange it into systematic steps (job design) appropriate to the applicant identified for the job.
Record keeping skills, to keep up to date records for assessment purposes.
Good communication skills with the ability to liaise at all levels.
The ability to travel to and from work placements.
Confidence to cope with difficult situations that may arise in the workplace and to work without supervision at different work locations.
The skills to integrate with co-workers - in order to appear that you are part of the normal working environment.
The ability to manage time for an efficient delivery of the job coaching service.
The ability to participate in ongoing self-assessment to evaluate training needs.
The ability to advocate equal opportunities and to pursue this area for the person supported.
The ability to work within the aims, objectives, policies and practice of Hft.
A flexible approach as this post involves weekends, evenings and some short notice shifts.
Good administration and computer skills.
Commitment to ongoing professional development.
Desirable
Experience or understanding of different employment settings
One-to-one training/coaching skills.
Ability to drive Hft vehicles.
Knowledge of the benefit system
Qualification in Supported Employment
Full Driving Licence with access to a vehicle with business insurance
